I was born in Montreal, Canada in 1973. Completing a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia in Philosophy and a minor in Cinema, I spent many years trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life. Marrying Sarith Zabawny at the age of 23, we moved from Montreal to Vancouver where I spent many years doing odd jobs. I worked as a P.A on film sets, sold ladies shoes, worked as a assistant wedding photographer, and was a video store clerk for many years. During my childhood I was constantly involved in the arts. I was making short films in univerasity, loved to write short stories, was an avid photographer, and enjoyed acting in plays and films.

At the age of 26 I reuniting with my sister after being apart since childhood. She invited me to visit her workplace in Montreal. She was working in a small VFX studio on television shows. I saw an artist modeling a dragon on a computer and was instantly fascinated. Returning to Vancouver soon after, and with only 13 dollars in my bank account, I noticed an advertisement on the bus for the Vancouver Film School. The ad showed an image of a dinosaur and was selling a course in animation. It started to dawn on me that all of my passions for acting, cinematography, film and story, might be hidden in what was still a secret little world known as animation and visual effects on the computer. Taking a loan from the bank, I enrolled in the Vancouver Film School and within only a few months I had come to the realization that animation was what I was meant to be doing.

Upon graduating, I began my career in Animation. After 15 years of working professionally as a Creature Animator, I have had the opportunity to work at all levels of my craft. I have worked as a Senior, Lead and Supervisor on some of the biggest blockbusters in film including Avatar, The Avengers, The Hobbit Trilogy and Iron Man 3. I have also worked as a Animation Director in  computer games at Ubisoft and Electronic Arts.

While animating cool shots for film will always be my first passion, I also greatly enjoy working closely with animators and clients to bring our collective vision to life. The challenges of storytelling, both technically and creatively, is what I value most. I also have extensive experience working on motion capture stages, bringing out the very best in a actor's performance.
